Well, I've stepped into a rat's nest thrown my lot in with a charming group of compatriots and no mistake.

Selwyn gave me a task this afternoon: take a message to Parnassus Glendower, with an interesting caveat: get the hell out of his way before he reads it. I don't know what the message contains, but Selwyn DID tell me it's meant to be provocative, to provoke Glendower, into, get this, going after Barty Crouch. Selwyn seems to hope he'll try to kill him.

If circumstances have changed such that Selwyn is attempting to do away with Crouch -- when they have been near, if not on, the same side for so long -- then the Dark Lord's death must be producing even more upheaval than we'd thought.

Minerva? Any thoughts on which other alliances might be disintegrating?

I agree, that's difficult to pick apart. Bill, be careful. I know Selwyn as an ally is a potentially good move, but Crouch as an enemy makes me nervous.

Be careful, though. Something's happening. Professor Lestrange just came and collected Harry and he's taking him somewhere. Somewhere not New London.

And it's not related to the wedding, either, because he muttered as they were walking out that he just hoped they'd be back in time for things tomorrow or Professor Sinistra would be really upset.

Professor Lestrange came a few minutes ago to tell me to get Harry's toilet kit and his pyjamas and things and bring them to the Hospital Wing, that he'd already taken him up there and he didn't want him to have to see anyone in the dormitories. Professor Lestrange didn't say anything about what happened except that Harry's not hurt. But he looked like he needed--well, like he needed a strong drink, to be honest.

I'm going up to see Harry. Madam Pomfrey, will you let me sit with him if I come?
