MLE had questions about what happened today--just finished speaking with the Enforcer--but I think they believed my answers, that I didn't see anything.

She's been in contact with Ridley recently, yet Ridley remains unarrested. She knew about the trick that Ridley used to get free, the pepper on the eggs. She knows what Ridley's familiar is.

Her real name is Rachel Brodie.

Is there ANY chance she cast Imperius on him? ...silently, maybe, or after you left.

It's possible. She also could have put it on him before he sent the patronus. For that matter, why didn't she call for backup of her own?

But she didn't. The patronus clearly warned us that she was there.

Strategically, it doesn't quite fit their modus operandi. They took down Dogstar with Polyjuice instead, remember, because infiltrating with Imperius is really goddamn risky. She took the risk of sending him away to rejoin his group instead of having him taken apart by Bella and Truncheon.

It's clear that Bill took a huge risk here, but she just may be exactly what he says.

What are you planning on telling her about us? About you? How much does she know already? How badly do you think you are exposed here?

What are you thinking of asking her?

As far as what she's gleaned from me, it's very little, as best as I can tell. I was in the holding area with the cell holding the prisoners when she arrived. I'd been sent to stall MLE, and there were forms to be filled out, and so the guard left it to me to go check the prisoners' condition while he went back to his post. She stunned the guard downstairs, came up, and found me. It's not as if I could have avoided her; there was only one entrance.

It was almost--comical. I'd heard the prisoners had little chance of survival from the guard, whereas she knew that Corax had sent me, which made her plenty suspicious of my motives. Both of us had our wands out and there was some fast talking going on from both sides before we determined that neither of us wanted to hurt those girls, and both of us wanted to get them out of there.

So she decided to try to recruit me for Dogstar. That's how it all came out. I was there where I wasn't supposed to be, so she tried to win me to her side.

We couldn't talk long, so I sent for Kingsley and the rest. I tried to protect their identities as best I could.

As for what I'll ask her, my purpose is to try to find out as much as I can about her and her motives while giving away as little about the Order as I can. I want to know how long she's been in Dogstar, who recruited her, and what she intends to do now that she knows about me.

I won't reveal any others among our membership if I can possibly prevent it, but I can't say for sure what else she already knows. Maybe I can find out.

So she does know you're affiliated with the Order, then. Depending on what Ridley has told her, she might know quite a bit. Albus, Kingsley, Frank, and Stephen all worked closely with Ridley, as did Scott Brownmiller. I'll have to revisit my notes on the matter, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's put quite a lot of things together as a result of her time with us.

I know you've built a rapport with Auror Lamont, but remember, she is gifted at deception and interrogation, and ought not to be underestimated in terms of the information she could learn from you. Your safety is also certainly not guaranteed. In the past, Dogstar has tended to push forward without much consideration for collateral damage, and you very well might be leverage or a potential scapegoat she could use to save her own hide.

Ridley's recent demands might save your neck there, even though we haven't been on good terms with her lately.

That assumes things are what they appear to be, of course, which I am not convinced of.

Let's just say I'm not a fan of coincidences, and your continued connection with Ms Lamont is something I find deeply problematic.

I do not like having you meet up with her without a full debriefing first. There are many things about this that I do not like, which probably comes as little surprise to you.

But I can see how time is of the essence, and how we must learn more and see what we can do with it.

This is far less than ideal. I assume you will be as careful as possible, and will be on guard for possible Legilimency and other ways she may take advantage of her newly-found information.

And regardless of what comes of this, and my rather extreme reservations, your actions today did save lives which is something that ought not be lost sight of.
