Jul. 18th, 2010 10:20 pmAs best as my network can tell, the trail on Snape and Macnair has gone cold. At least none of my sources have heard any hint that the search is localised anywhere. And believe me, the MLE is turning over every rock they can find.
On the plus side, no one seems to have the slightest suspicion that Sirius is alive. (Don't worry, I haven't let on to any of my sources either.)
My lunches with Percy have been interesting, to say the least. There's a part of me that hates pumping him for information, but I'll take the chance while we've got it. He's eager to talk, although he is mindful about being discreet about Malfoy's specific business. At least I can get an idea of the people who come regularly and get Percy's impressions of them.
Dad, I have a few names for you, possible sources of information in Manchester and Oxford I think you should check out. I think they might be quite useful for us. Let's talk over lunch tomorrow.
