Order Only: Hermione's mother

I've heard unexpectedly from my contact at Smythstone, the werewolf enclave where Hermione's mum is being held. We've had an opportunity arise where Hermione might be able to visit her, if she's willing to take polyjuice.

My contact says that there was a visit from representatives from the werewolf registry scheduled for Wednesday (tomorrow), but he just got word that the visit was to be cancelled, and rescheduled for a month from now. BUT, he thinks if he tells the enclave security that the visit IS going forward, we can pull a switch and get our own people in instead. Hermione can see her mother, and if we're lucky, we might even be able to get Mrs Granger out of there entirely. Apparate her out via side along, pop back, and then exit the enclave.

The thing is, he warns me that there have been rumblings that they may be shuffling some of the residents around to other enclaves soon. There has been upheaval in the pack, with the fall of the old Alpha, and they want to break up some of the new pack alliances. Mrs Granger is a high profile prisoner, given that she was bitten at the Lord Protector's order himself, and if they take her out of there, who knows if we'll ever be able to locate her again.

My contact has sent me the information we'll need for the bonafides, three of them, and I brought it to my best forger, in case we decide to go ahead with the idea. The question is: do we want to risk it?

Is there any chance you could break away tomorrow afternoon for this, Hermione? Remus, do you think you might be able to make yourself available for this? It might be smart to have a werewolf on the inside on this job. And Kingsley, could you be the third?

I'd already discussed with Hermione, and with Alice, the possibility of Hermione coming to 12GP tomorrow to visit Terry. We'd kept that a secret from Terry, though -- that way, he wouldn't be disappointed if something happened to prevent her coming.

She's already arranged to have time off tomorrow, so going to the enclave instead of 12GP should be ... not easy, exactly, but certainly within the realm of possible.

The full moon is in three days, and she wouldn't have had the benefit of wolfsbane. We'd have to scramble, but Mellisandra's workshop would be secure once cleared of her things. It's been awhile since we've tested the door and shutter strength, as well as the dormitory doors and windows, but we'll put all hands on it so that we'll be prepared should you have a chance to get her out.

Remus, would having her take some wolfsbane the day of help at all? Do you have a dose to spare?

And no, I haven't told Terry yet.

There's a reinforced room in 12GP, as well. No worries there.

I don't have extra wolfsbane to share -- Severus has to brew it fresh each month, and he only makes as much as is needed, since it spoils quickly. I don't think a single dose would help, in any case. He's told me several times how imperative it is that I take it in precise quantities at precise times, and I don't think that's merely him wanting precise data on the side effects.

You'll be in the best position of all of us to sort out where she would be best suited for her transformation, and it's always good to have multiple options just in case, so we'll go ahead with the preparations on our end of things.

You're right in that if you're able to get away for a little while, it would be hard to see everyone you might want to.

It depends on some things, I think. How long can you be away for? We don't know how long the visit to the enclave will take, but if there is enough time, we could try to coordinate something.

Terry, we'd been talking with Hermione about her possibly being able to get away from Buckingham for a little while.

We'd originally thought that she'd be able to have a quick visit with you, but that seems like it's a bit more up in the air now.

If you can't see her this time around, rest assured, it's something she very much wants to have happen, and we'll keep our eyes open for other opportunities.

Maybe six hours? I don't know. I've never really gone out before for more than an hour or two, but I'm supposed to have all afternoon. I don't think anyone would come after me. But if I got it wrong I would be in terrible trouble. I'm to get free at noon, and if I'm back by supper at six it should be all right...

Well, after talking with Remus, Grimmauld might be a good place to have everyone in terms of simplicity and security. So if you do go and visit with your mum, we might have you swing by Grimmauld after to see Terry for a little if there's enough time. And if you do manage to bring your mum back with you, you could bring her to Grimmauld, and still might have a chance to see Terry.

Does that work for you, Terry love, to have you wait at Grimmauld on Wednesday afternoon with Sirius?

And Remus, I'm assuming -- would that work for you as well?

Hermione, if there's any chance you could see your mum, and I mean any chance, you should grab it with both hands. Don't worry about me.

I can wait at 12 Grimmauld, but don't risk trouble on my account. You go see your mum.

I really hope the Order can get her out. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yes, I'll wait. But I told her not to worry about me if she's running late and has to go back without seeing me. The important thing is for her to see her mum.

Sorry, Alice, I didn't have any inkling of the plans for Hermione and Terry to meet. But I think we should grab this opportunity. Our contact is taking a big risk for us, and we may never get another. It's the first chance we've had to rescue her in three years.
