Order Only: Arrests

I've received a tip that there have been several more arrests in the matter of that group that has dubbed itself 'Dogstar.' We should see something in the Prophet over the next couple days, although not everything MLE has managed to learn, of course.

From what I've gleaned, this group is cautious about internal security, and that's protected a couple possible members that the Ministry believed to be part of the group who (barely) managed to escape the net when the trap was sprung. Several of the Aurors are very unhappy about this. The group seems to follow a hermetic cell-type structure, and it has served them well, protecting other groups if one is rounded up. Enough to slow down the investigation a bit. Not enough to save them entirely, though, poor bastards. The methods of interrogation they're facing certainly aren't pretty.

Oh, and one other thing: the Ministry is filling up their cells with a small flow of would be agitators and insurrectionists who apparently have been reading some of those Grim Truths. A poison charge, a couple of small explosions, that sort of thing--but they've turned their most vindictative attention on muggleborns caught attempting wandless magic. Including one woman who turned out to be rather good at it, according to my source.

I feel particularly sorry for her. I saw the Order in that case: she's to be sterilised so she doesn't bear any 'unnatural whelps' with the same ability.

A blatant contradiction, of course, to the official story that muggleborns 'steal' magic.

And it puzzles me why people fail to see through the nonsense the Ministry spew about Muggleborns.
